About Cali Bird

There’s a tonne of coaches out there, each with their own skills and specialisms.

Here’s what’s unique about Cali:

Despite having a music degree, Cali has spent most of her working life in the corporate world as an accountant, investment banker and IT specialist. Eventually she managed to work part-time in the day job and do creative projects on the side. These included writing books, being a life-coach and giving talks.

Cali has recovered from long-covid fatigue. Prior to getting sick she was very focussed on productivity and achievement. She had to abandon her goals and accept a slower, gentler pace of life with more rest.

She learnt to “be” rather than “do”. Cali has gone from a life-time of cursing her body for “letting her down” to loving it and praising it. This has been a crucial part of her recovery.

She was single until she was 40 and married her husband when they were both 46.

Sadly, he had an accident in 2023 and sustained a traumatic brain injury. He now lives in long-term care and is severely impacted by his injury. His essence has completely changed and all the lovely dynamics of their marriage has gone.

Because of this, Cali identifies with widows. She has lost her honey-bunny. However, he is still alive and she has to continually witness how he is now and spend her life wading through mountains of financial and legal paperwork.

Cali has been a Buddhist for nearly 40 years which has helped her to survive (and thrive) in spite of the above.

She is in her late 50s and lives in Bedfordshire, in the UK.

Cali Bird has written two books. One is a personal development book called Don’t Give Up Your Day Job – Practical ways to lead a fulfilling life and still pay the mortgage.

The other is a chick-lit novel called Tales of the Countess. It features handbags that talk – think Sex And The City meets Toy Story!
